  • How far in advance should I book an event planner?

    We recommend booking your planner as soon as possible once your date is set. Ideally 8-12 months in advance for large events. Smaller occasions can be planned in 2-4 months. Holiday events should be booked by early Fall to allow enough preparation time.

  • What happens after I book Creative Happens for event planning?

    Shortly after booking and submitting your deposit, we send out a detailed questionnaire to capture your vision. From there we dive into venue suggestions and talk through other vendors needed once the venue is booked. We’ll map out a planning timeline with milestones based on your date.

  • Do your planners handle setup/cleanup?

    Yes, we oversee setup based on the floorplan and designs developed during the planning process. For basic cleanup, we ensure rental items are packed and the venue cleaning policies are followed. Additional intensive cleaning would require cleanup crew rental.

  • Can we meet our planner in person?

    Absolutely, establishing an initial rapport is important which is why we meet over coffee, tour venues together and maintain open communication throughout the process. Our team is based in San Diego so frequent in-person meetings are easily arranged.

  • What happens if my planner cannot make my event?

    We have backup planners assigned to every event in case of emergencies. However, our team has never missed an event since founding the company. We also create detailed plans allowing anyone to coordinate based on outlined information.

  • Do your services include décor and catering?

    We have preferred décor partners and caterers that we recommend to clients for coordination convenience, but also work with vendors you prefer. Our team handles all vendor management and setup regardless.
